Project Overview
Industrial facilities, heavy manufacturing units, and active construction sites require strict adherence to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) standards to safeguard workers and comply with occupational health regulations.
We engineered an end-to-end AI Computer Vision monitoring solution that continuously analyzes live CCTV and RTSP camera streams. The system automatically identifies safety equipment compliance—such as hard hats, high-visibility vests, gloves, goggles, and boots—and flags non-compliance, unauthorized zone entries, and dangerous behaviors in real time, triggering instant notifications for site safety supervisors.
Challenges in Workplace Safety & Manual PPE Audits
01
Inconsistent Manual Safety Inspections
Manual safety checks by supervisors cover only a fraction of working hours and work zones, leaving workers unmonitored during high-risk shift operations.02
Delayed Incident Response
Violations like missing helmets or unfastened harness belts are often discovered only after an accident occurs, when preventative action is no longer possible.03
Complex Multi-Gear Verification
Different work areas require specific combinations of safety gear (vests, helmets, gloves, face shields, or steel-toe footwear), making simultaneous manual verification difficult.04
Hazardous Exclusion Zone Breaches
Heavy machinery zones, high-voltage rooms, and crane pathways frequently experience unauthorized personnel entries without automated alerts.05
Lack of Automated Audit Evidence
EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) teams struggle to produce verifiable compliance records, violation heatmaps, and shift-wise safety audit reports.06
Environmental Interference (Low Light & Dust)
Industrial facilities feature challenging visual environments including varying lighting, shadows, dust, and occlusion that confuse traditional video sensors. How Computer Vision & AI Transformed Workplace Safety
Multi-Class PPE Object Detection
Custom trained deep learning models detect mandatory safety equipment simultaneously across all camera viewpoints in real time.
-
Accurately identifies Hard Hats, Safety Vests, Gloves, Safety Glasses, and Protective Footwear.
-
Robust to harsh lighting, night-vision feeds, dust, and partial physical occlusions.
-
Configurable polygon geofencing for exclusion zones, crane paths, and high-voltage areas.
-
Distinguishes authorized operators from general personnel in hazardous machine sectors.
Hazardous Zone Geofencing & Intrusion Alerts
The vision engine defines virtual perimeter boundaries over camera video feeds to detect unauthorized personnel entries instantly.
Sub-Second Real-Time Alert Dispatch
When a non-compliance event or zone violation occurs, the system dispatches immediate alerts to on-duty safety managers.
-
Delivers real-time notifications via WebSockets, WhatsApp, SMS, and audio sirens on site.
-
Includes visual snapshot snapshots with highlighted bounding boxes showing the exact violation.
-
Live compliance scorecards segmented by plant location, shift, and work team.
-
Automated PDF/Excel audit report exports ready for regulatory compliance filings.
Central EHS Dashboard & Automated Audit Reports
A centralized analytics portal aggregates camera events across all sites, providing historical incident tracking and compliance analytics.
